Anderson Speedway To Have Presence at Halloween 200 This Weekend
Annually
one of the most challenging Street Stock Endurance races of the season is set
for Saturday, October 29 at Salem Speedway in Southern Indiana. The 18th Annual
JayC Food Stores Halloween 200 presented by Jasper Engines and Transmissions
currently has 94 pre-entries for the $5,000 to Win event.
Several drivers that compete at Anderson Speedway will be in the field for the
18th running of the historic event. Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stock
Champion Rod Phipps and Boss Hogg Figure 8 racer Rob Allman will compete in this
weekends event for Dave Hacker Racing.
Three-time Street Stock Champion and 2004 Halloween 200 winner Rich Boyer will
be among the contenders. Other Anderson Street Stock racers that will be in the
field include David Woessner, Derrick Layne, two-time Halloween 200 winner Phil
Jenkins, Jeff & Missy Perry and Tom Gossar.
Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTruck veteran and 2006 CRA Street Stock Champion Joe
Beaver will also be racing at Salem this weekend along with Insight ThunderCar
competitor Shane Cullen.
2005
CRA Super Series Champion Jeff Lane and CRA Managing Partner R.J. Scott are also
listed on the pre-entry list. The event is expected to see seven former
Halloween 200 winners including Chuck Barnes, Phil Jenkins, Rich Boyer, Johnny
Magee and Johnny Baker.
On
Sunday, spectator gates open at 9:30 a.m. at Salem Speedway with practice
beginning at 10. The Halloween 200 goes green at 1 p.m.
Advance General Admission tickets are $13 for adults with children (age 7-12)
admitted for just $3. Advance reserved tickets are selling for $18.
