Speedway returns to racing action on Friday, July 21 with the MAX/WLBC Friday
Night Summer Series featuring American Awards Legends, Insight ThunderCars & Pro
ThunderCars along with Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives in Oval and
Figure 8 racing.
On Saturday, July 22, the 57th Best Way Disposal National Crown presented by
Anderson Sign and Banner will showcase the Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky Figure 8’s
in a 75-lap feature event. The Star Press Saturday Night Series will also
feature Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks and Lampco Federal Credit Union Street
Stocks.
The Best Way Disposal National Crown
is the longest running continuous stock car race in America. The winner’s list
is a who’s who of Figure 8 racing. Last year, Mike Riddle Jr. became the latest
driver to win the event. Active drivers that have won National Crowns include
Ronnie Rose (2004), Ronnie Phipps (1998, 2003), Mark Goettman (2002), Curtis
Chapman (2001), Jason Pitts (2000), Rod Phipps (1999) and Doug Riddle (1997).
On Friday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 8.
Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under
get in free.
