Perfect Score Weekend Set For Anderson Speedway

Anderson
Speedway returns to racing action with the Cooper’s Sport Bowl / Shout’s Perfect
Score Weekend. On Friday, July 8, the MAX/WLBC Friday Night Summer Series will
showcase Legends, Insight ThunderCars in Oval and Figure 8 racing along with
Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive in Oval and Figure 8 action.
On Saturday, July 9, The Star Press Saturday Night Series features Ed Martin
Auto Group SuperTrucks, Terry’s RV Sales & Service Street Stocks and Boss Hogg
Catering & Jerky Figure 8’s.

Sneva has taken over the number one position in the Legends point standings
after scoring his seventh consecutive top-five finish and Daniel Russell’s
disqualification from the event last Friday. Sneva leads Russell by 36 markers.
Third is John Robbins with Scott McGinley and Eric Black completing the top
five.
Alexandria’s
Alice Riall grabbed the Insight ThunderCar Oval points lead after recording a
seventh top-five finish on July 1. Riall holds a single point advantage over
Brandon Phillips. Third is Billy Riddle, who trails first position by just 17
markers. Anderson’s Roy Grissom Sr. is fourth with William Coffman rounding out
the top five in the standings.
Terry
Malone Jr. continues to sit atop the Insight ThunderCar Figure 8 point
standings, producing three feature wins and 10 top 10s. Second is Paris Swallows
Jr., 55 markers behind the front-running Malone. The remainder of the top five
includes Rookie Billy Riddle, Mike Peters and Roy Grissom Sr.
The
Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Oval division features a close point’s
battle after 12 of 24 events. Sam Folsom holds the first position, 24 markers
ahead of Dustin Burge. Third is Kevin Harmon with new track record holder Brad
Stevens fourth and Nick Warner in fifth spot.
Nick
Warner leads the Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Figure 8 point standings
with a 105 edge on Randy Owen. Third is Allen Wagner with most recent feature
winner Chris Teepe ranking fourth. Travis Burge rounds out the top five with 10
top-10 finishes.
On Friday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with racing beginning at 8.
Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under
get in free.
Tony
Broyles has put together an impressive season in the Ed Martin Auto Group
SuperTrucks, producing a feature win, three fast times and eight top-five
finishes in the opening eight events. He has constructed a 347 point lead on
defending division champion Josh Burton, who has drove into the Texas Roadhouse
Winner’s Circle on two occasions and has colleted five top 10s. Third is Robert
Lemen with Ronnie Rose and Scott Brooks completing the top five.
Adding
to his lead in the Terry’s RV Sales & Service Street Stocks, Rich Boyer drove to
an eighth checkered flag last weekend. Boyer leads Rod Phipps by 281 markers
after 11 events. Phipps has put together an impressive season with two feature
wins and 11 top 10s. Danny Acrey ll ranks third with Curtis Chapman and Bruce
McFall rounding out the top five.
The
Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky Figure 8 division features the closest point’s battle
on The Star Press Saturday Night Series. Jeff Swinford leads Curtis Chapman by
just nine markers going into this weekend’s action. Swinford has produced nine
top-10 finishes while Chapman has eight top-five finishes on his resume. Third
in the standings is Mike Riddle Jr., the winner of the 1 Hour Figure 8 Enduro.
Riddle trails first place by just 78 points. The remainder of the top five
includes teammates Michael Phipps and Ronnie Phipps.
