The
Limited Late Models make a second trip to Anderson after Jon Conklin captured
the first victory on June 10, recording his first oval victory at Anderson
Speedway. Other strong performances were turned in by Scott Hinshaw, Jason
Fullen, Mike Riddle Jr. and Mike Coates.
The
Insight ThunderCar Oval division continues to feature a close points battle with
Roy Grissom Sr. and Brandon Phillips tied for first position in the point
standings after seven events. Grissom has collected six top-10 finishes while
Phillips has placed in the top five on three occasions. Rookie Lonny Burton is
third with Alice Riall and Billy Riddle completing the top five.
Earning
his first checkered flag of the Insight ThunderCar Figure 8 season, Mike Peters

When
the Winged Sprint Cars of the Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series return it will be the
13th Winged Sprint Car event held at Anderson Speedway. The fastest short track
cars in the world will once again bring record setting speeds with them when
they return for a 30-lap feature on the final night of the Texas Roadhouse
Racing Through The Night Weekend.
Over 20 cars are expected to return including Toledo, Ohio's Jimmy McCune who
lowered the Anderson Speedway one lap track record to 10.444 seconds last
August. McCune's new track record is also a world record for a .250 mile
speedway.
Also featured in the event will be 2005 Pay Less / Remy International Little 500
runner-up Tim Cox. The Illinois driver is perhaps the hottest H.O.S.S. driver
after sweeping last weekends events at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Iowa and
Rockford Speedway in Illinois.
Other drivers expected to compete include current point leader and defending
champion, Greg Wheeler, as well as other current top five point standing
drivers: Michael Tarlton, Hank Lower, and Jason Fuller.
