Big Weekend of Racing On Tap for
Anderson Speedway

Racing
action resumes at Anderson Speedway on Friday, June 10, with the MAX/WLBC Friday
Night Summer Series featuring Limited Late Models, Insight ThunderCars in Oval
and Figure 8 action and Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives on the Oval and
Figure 8.
On Saturday Night, June 11, The Star Press Saturday Night Series will showcase
Terry’s RV Sales & Service Street Stocks, Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky Figure 8’s
and a special appearance from the Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives in
Oval and Figure 8 action.
The
Limited Late Models will make their first appearance of the season with 2003
division champion Mike Riddle Jr. expected to be one of the drivers to beat.
Others to watch include Todd Marsh, Jon Conklin, Jason Fullen and Mike Coates.
Recording
a division best fourth top-five finish, Roy Grissom Sr. advanced to first
position in the Insight ThunderCar Oval point standings. Brandon Phillips ranks
second, 57 markers behind Grissom. Rookie Lonny Burton is third with Alice Riall
and Bill Riddle completing the top five.
Paris Swallows Jr. continues to pace the Insight ThunderCar Figure 8’s, with a
26 point lead on Mike Peters. Two feature wins and six top-10 finishes has
placed Terry Malone Jr. third with Robert Brumback fourth and rookie Billy
Riddle filling out the top five.
Close
competition continues to be the theme of Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive
Oval division with Nick Warner now shown in first position. Collecting his first
checkered flag on June 3, propelled him to a 13 point lead over Kreigh Leever.
Third is Dustin Burge with Kevin Harmon fourth and Sam Folsom fifth.
Warner extended his points lead in the Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive
Figure 8’s with notching his fourth feature win last Friday. Second is Randy
Owen, 80 markers behind Warner. The remainder of the top five includes Allen
Wagner, Keith Morris and Chris Teepe.
On Friday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with racing beginning at 8.
Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under
get in free.
Rich
Boyer sits atop the Terry’s RV Sales & Service Street Stock point standings with
a 108 point advantage on Rod Phipps, who took top honors in The Star Press
Spring Championships. Curtis Chapman holds the third spot after posting seven
top-10 finishes. Former division champion Danny Acrey ll and Elwood’s Bruce
McFall round out the top five.
Noblesville’s
Jeff Swinford ranks first in the Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky Figure 8 standings
after recording five top-five finishes in the opening seven races. A runner-up
performance last Saturday added with his recent consistent finishes advanced
Curtis Chapman to second place. Third is Josh Tharp with Michael Phipps and most
recent feature winner Ronnie Phipps completing the top five.
The Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives will make a special Saturday Night
appearance in replace of the Super Late Models that were originally scheduled on
this date. The Front Wheel Drives will be featured in both Oval and Figure 8
racing.
