International Little 500 Week Kicks off Wednesday Night With USAC National

The
57th Pay Less / Remy International Little 500 week kicks off Wednesday, May 25
at Anderson Speedway with the USAC Valvoline National Sprint Car Series
competing in the Central Indiana Chevy Dealers 50. Joining the USAC Valvoline
National Sprint Car Series will be the USAC Midwest Ford Focus Midgets.
The USAC Valvoline National Sprint Car Series opened its 2005 season at Anderson
in April with Florida sensation Dave Steele taking top honors in the 6th Annual
Glen Niebel Classic. Steele edged last year’s Little 500 runner-up Aaron Pierce
for the feature victory. Heading into Wednesday nights event, Jay Drake leads
the point standings with Dave Darland, Mat Neely, Tom Hessert and Bud Keading
rounding out the top five.
Serving as support event, the USAC Midwest Ford Focus Midgets will make their
season debut at Anderson Speedway. Pennsylvania’s Ryan Smith won the season
opener at Lima (Ohio) Motorsports Park last Friday and currently leads the point
standings over Ronnie Wuerdeman.
On Wednesday, practice begins at 11:15 a.m. with the spectator gates opening at
4 p.m. Qualifying is set for 5:45 with the racing program going green at 7.
Advanced adult tickets are $10 and $15 on raceday. Kids 6 to 12 are admitted for
$4. Five and under are free.
The 57th Pay Less / Remy International Little 500 round one pole qualifications
are set for Thursday, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
On Friday, the 33-car field will be set with the second round of qualifications.
Later that night, the Families Forever / Primerica Free Night will take place.
The MAX/WLBC Friday Night Summer Series will feature Insight ThunderCars in Oval
and Figure 8 racing, Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives Oval and Figure 8
action and an awesome Fireworks show.
Admission is free for all events on Thursday and Friday.
On
Saturday, May 28, the 57th Pay Less / Remy International Little 500 green flag
waves at 8 p.m. Thirty-three Sprint Cars in 11 rows of 3 will be featured in the
richest Sprint Car asphalt event.
Tickets are available for the legendary 57th Pay Less / Remy International
Little 500 at $25 for reserved seating. For more information, contact the
