(October
20,
2013) - After finishing second five
times during the season, Trent Gossar scored
his first feature win on the final night of
point racing in the NASH 102.5 Thunder Car
Division.
Trent Gossar led all 30 laps on UAW Paint
the Night Pink at Anderson Speedway after
starting on the outside of the front row.
Gossar grabbed the lead at the start chased
by Chapman, Rob Allman, Chris Snyder and
Robbie Wyman.
Wyman passed Snyder for the fourth spot on
the second lap on the front straight and the
front-runners held position until the 20 lap
mark. At that point Wyman slowed and pulled
out of competition with Chapman having a
difficult time getting around the lapped car
of Tom Gossar.
The only caution flag waved on lap 23 when
Snyder and Austin Russell tangled in turn
four with both drive’s spinning into the
infield.
Chapman took the second spot on lap 25
coming off the fourth corner, but Allman
returned the move on Chapman coming off the
final corner of the last lap to claim the
runner-up position. Frankie Oakes and Chris
Snyder rounded out the top five.
Chapman won the Thunder Car championship on
the strength of winning eight feature events
during the year.
With a 100-lap on tap next Saturday for the
Thunder Car division, Chapman said he would
return to victory lane.
