(July
7,
2013) - The list of entries to date
for the upcoming Stoops Freightliner Redbud
300 at Anderson Speedway on July 20 contains
some very impressive names as this event
continues to grow into one of the premier
template late model events in the country,
sanctioned by the ARCA/CRA Super Series
Powered by JEGS.
The list to date is topped
by 2012 event winner Ross Kenseth, son of
NASCAR Champion Matt Kenseth, as he looks to
defend his exciting win from last season.
Kenseth also won the Winchester 400 and All
American 400 last year.
Kenseth will have plenty
of competition, with just the racers that
have entered to date starting with three
time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Johnny
VanDoorn, a former winner of this event when
it was called the Budweiser 250.
VanDoorn has gone to
victory lane twice already this year in
series events, first at Toledo Speedway on
April 20, then he got the win in the June 15
Battle at Berlin 251, winning the first
event of the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late
Model Triple Crown, now he looks to continue
his winning streak in the Stoops
Freightliner Redbud 300, the second event in
the Triple Crown. The Winchester 400 on
October 13 at Winchester Speedway will be
the third event of the Triple Crown, if a
single driver can win all three events, they
will receive a $100,000 cash bonus from
JEGS. If there is a driver that just wins
two of the events, they will receive a
$10,000 cash bonus. If there is a different
winner for all three events, the driver with
the best overall finishes between the three
events will receive a $5000 bonus.
Georgia hot shoes Bubba
Pollard and T.J. Reaid are both already
entered for the Stoops Freightliner Redbud
300. Pollard has more wins than any late
model driver in the country over the past
three years and already has multiple wins
with the Southern Super Series this year.
Reaid has to be one of the favorites to win
the Redbud 300 after winning two series
events at Anderson Speedway the past two
seasons, including the series event this
year on May 4. Pollard plans to do double
duty during the Redbud 300 weekend, he is
also entered for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour
event at Anderson on Friday, July 19.
15 year old South
Carolina sensation Kyle Benjamin is entered.
Benjamin became the youngest winner in
ARCA/CRA Super Series history last year in
July at Lucas Oil Raceway, he also won the
series 2012 season finally at Watermelon
Capital Speedway and won a JEGS Tour event
at Winchester Speedway in May of last year.
Benjamin won four straight nights at New
Smyrna Speedway during Speedweeks in
February and won the famed Rattler 250 at
South Alabama Speedway in March. He is
running a partial short track schedule with
the ARCA Racing Series in 2013 along with
selected ARCA/CRA Super Series events.
Current ARCA/CRA Super
Series point’s leader Travis Barden has
entered, Braden took over the series points
lead after his first ever series win last
Saturday night at Winchester Speedway.
Braden also had a dominating JEGS Tour win
at Berlin Raceway on June 14th. The 2012
series Boyne Machine Rookie of the Year is
well on his way to try and capture the
series 2013 Championship.
Current JEGS/CRA
All-Stars Tour point’s leader Cody Coughlin
is also entered for the Redbud 300. It will
be his Super Late Model and ARCA/CRA Super
Series debut. Coughlin has two JEGS Tour
wins so far this season including wins at
Dixie Motor Speedway on June 7th and at the
series last event on June 22 at Salem
Speedway. He will try to get his third JEGS
Tour win on Redbud 300 Weekend, and then do
double duty with hopes of winning the Redbud
