2013) - Anderson Speedway’s
Independence Day Celebration featuring
Figure 8 Madness and huge fireworks show
presented by EDCO Welding & Hydraulics is
set for Thursday, July 4. The Figure 8
Madness program will include IOFS Outlaw
Figure 8’s, IOFS Front Wheel Drive Figure
8’s, IOFS Super Karts and Trailer Races on
the Figure 8.
The IOFS Outlaw Figure 8’s will make their
third appearance at Anderson Speedway on
July 4th serving as the headline event in
their 50-lap main event. Charlie Hargraves
will look to extend his winning streak to
three consecutive victories. That string of
wins would be the most consecutive Outlaw
Figure 8 victories since R.J. Norton during
the 2001-2002 seasons.
In the most recent IOFS Outlaw Figure 8
event on June 14, Hargraves prevailed after
an intense battle with 2012 series champion
Jeremy Vanderhoof. The first season victory
for Hargraves took place on May 20, when he
finished ahead Jessie Tunney with Ben
Tunney.
Elliott McKinney is the most recent winner
in the IOFS Front Wheel Drive Figure 8
division, taking the checkered flag on June
14. McKinney also paces the Anderson
Speedway Front Wheel Dive Figure 8
standings, with a 15 point lead over Kevin
Henson. The remainder of the top five
includes Mark Allman, Jamie Valentine and
Brian McKinney.
The IOFS Super Karts will return for a
second time this year and compete in a
15-lap feature. David Reynolds earned the
victory on June 22 crossing the finish line
ahead of Dustin Kares and Rick McNaily.
The Trailer Race on the Figure 8 will also
be part of the exciting racing program. The
action-packed event will be a 10 lap race.
After the racing program concludes, EDCO
Welding & Hydraulic will present a huge
fireworks shows, lighting up the sky above
Anderson Speedway.
On Thursday, July 4, spectator gates open at
5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 8.
Admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids
ages 6-12. Children five and under get in
free.
