returns to racing action on Saturday, May 18
with the Spring Championships for the MEP
Late Models, Street Stocks, WMDH ThunderCars
and Front Wheel Drive Figure 8’s.
The MEP Late Models will make their third
appearance of the 2013 season. Victories
have been claimed by Keith Sterkowitz and
Danny Trent. In the season standings, Rob
Allman leads Sterkowitz by four points with
Jeff Williams in third position. Ronnie
Rose and Ronnie Phipps round out the top
five.
Tyler Marsh paces the Street Stock standings
with a seven point margin over Calvin
Parham. Third is Joe Pulley with Danny Adams
and opening night winner Jake McEflresh
completing the top five.
An impressive start to the WMDH ThunderCar
season has placed Curtis Chapman in the
first position. He won the non-points
ThunderCar 100 in March and then scored the
opener in the WMDH ThunderCars. Second is
Trent Gossar with Rob Allman in third spot.
Fourth is Chris Snyder with Jeff Hopkins
ranked in fifth.
Kevin Henson sits atop the Front Wheel Drive
Figure 8 standings with a 11 point advantage
over Elliott McKinney. Other early season
challengers include Mark Allman, Jerry
Swinford and Jamie Valentine.
On Saturday, May 18, spectator gates open at
5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 8.
Admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids
ages 6-12. Children five and under get in
free.
