Dugger Sweeps Thunder Roadster Action
By Ken de la Bastide
(October 8, 2012) – It proved to be a great night for Doug
Dugger in Thunder Roadster action at Anderson Speedway last Saturday as he
set fast time and then went out and was victorious in the heat and fature
races.
The early lead of the feature was taken by Nate Shrout after Darrell Brown
made contact with the turn four wall ending his night.
Dugger was running third behind Shrout and David Lobbia, but by the fourth
lap had taken over the top spot with an inside pass of Shrout entering turn
three.
From there Dugger went on to win by 2-seconds over Shrout with Lobbia, Mark
Livsey and Phil Jenkins rounding out the top five.
In the heat race, it took Dugger eight laps to work his way from fourth to
get around Shrout with an inside move on the front straight.
The early lead was taken by Eddie Richardson, who spun all by himself on the
back straight on lap three. That face the lead to Shrout followed by Lobbia
and Dugger.
Dugger went outside of Lobbia coming off the fourth corner to move into the
second spot and started to close on Shrout.
Following Dugger and Shrout to the checkers were Lobbia, Brown and Livsey.
During qualifications Dugger showed he was going to be a force to be
reckoned with after setting fast time with a lap of 13.337-seconds. Brown
was second quick with a time of 13.761-seconds with Lobbia posting a time of
13.906-seconds to claim the third fastest time.
