Dossey Claims Championship, Wins Fourth Legends Featrue
By Ken de la Bastide
(September
16, 2012) –
There’s no better way to celebrate a championship than with a
victory and Jack Dossey Jr. did just that last weekend at Anderson Speedway
on AERCO Heating and Cooling Night.
Josh Dietz took the early lead in the feature event chased by Nickie
Koleckie, fast qualifier Kyle Baugh, Dossey and John Robbins. Dossey moved
around Baugh on the third circuit as the top five drivers were running in a
tight pack.
Koleckie took the lead on lap ten with an inside moved entering turn one of
Dietz and Dossey used the same move entering turn three to get into the
second spot.
Dossey slipped inside of Koleckie on lap 17 entering turn three to take the
top spot, but was never able to pull away from the competition.
At the checkers it was Dossey winning by .379-seconds over Koleckie followed
by Baugh, Dietz and Robbins.
The race went caution free with 12 of the 16 competitors finishing on the
lead lap.
The first heat race got started with a bang on the second lap.
With Baugh leading, Rodney Smith was running second when he drifted high
entering turn one and made heavy contact with Tony Holden. Both cars
suffered heavy damage after hitting the outside retaining wall and
collecting Marty Griffin.
From there Baugh went on to record his first heat win of the year with
Koleckie, Robbins, Jack Dossey III and Heath Tatman rounding out the top
five.
In the second heat race, Jack Dossey Jr. passed Dietz on the third lap and
went on to record the victory. Dietz finished second followed by Eric Black,
Anthony Metallo and Chris Hacker.
