IOFS Outlaw Figure 8's, CRA Late Model Sportsman & Street Stocks

30, 2012) – Racing action returns to Anderson Speedway on
Saturday, June 2 with 75-lap events from the Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late
Model Sportsman and CRA Street Stocks. The IOFS Outlaw Figure 8’s will also
be showcased in a 30-lap feature.
Saturday’s event will be the 15th at that track for the Top Speed
Fabrication CRA Late Model Sportsman Series. With his victory on May 12th at
Anderson, Jason Atkinson has now tied Keith Sterkowitz for the most series
victories at Anderson with three apiece. Al Cook Jr. and Charlie Hanna are
tied for second with two victories.
The CRA Street Stock event will be the 21st series event held at Anderson
Speedway. Rich Boyer and Josh Poore are tied with the most series victories
at Anderson with three apiece. Jason Thompson and Ronnie Rose are tied for
second with two wins apiece.
Atkinson comes into the event as the Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late Model
Sportsman point’s leader after his May 12th victory. He now has two wins in
the three events so far this season. Bob Sibila Jr. and K.C. Spillers are
tied for second, 10 points behind Atkinson. Winchester winner Tommy Cook is
in fourth place, 15 points behind Atkinson. Brian McFadden is in fifth
place, he is 10 points behind Cook.
The competitors in the McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models will do
battle against the traveling CRA racers. Josh Poore moved into the first
position after notching a season best second place finish during Hoosier
Park Spring Championships. Ronnie Rose is second with Brandon Phillips in
third position. Fred Hopkins and Josh Cave round out the top five in the
season standings.
Saturday’s event will be the fourth event of the season for the CRA Street
Stocks and the second appearance at Anderson Speedway. Josh Myers was
victorious in the previous Anderson event on May 12th. Other series winners
this season include Jeff Lane last Saturday night at Shadybowl Speedway, and
Brian Hopkins in the series season opener at Plymouth Speedway.
J.J. Schafer comes into Saturday’s event as the series point’s leader by one
point over Hopkins in second and by five points over rookie Tyler Marsh in
third place. Rookie T.J. Flynn is in fourth place with Jimmy Kirby in fifth
place.
Three feature victories and five top-five finishes have placed Josh Myers in
first place in the EDCO Welding Street Stock standings. Rickie Tharp ranks
second, just 10 markers behind Myers. The remainder of the top five included
Kirby, Marsh and Frankie Oakes.
The IOFS Outlaw Figure 8’s will make their fourth appearance of the young
season on the quarter-mile oval of Anderson Speedway. Charlie Hargraves won
the opener on March 31 over Jeremy Vanderhoof and Robbie Loving with Johnny
Hargraves scoring his first career Anderson victory on April 21. Charlie
Hargraves and Jon Conklin were close behind at the checkered flag behind the
race winner. Eddie Van Meter scored top honors in the most recent event on
May 5.
On Saturday, June 2, spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with the racing
beginning at 8. Admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12.
Children five and under get in free.
