McGunegill Engine Performance Powers Late Model Division
(April
3, 2012) –
Anderson Speedway officials announced that McGunegill Engine
Performance (MEP) will be the sponsor for the Late Model division for the
2012 racing season. MEP is expanding their partnership with Anderson
Speedway after an event sponsorship program last season.
“We are very proud to welcome one of the country's premiere engine builders,
McGunegill Engine Performance, to the Late Model division,” said Rick
Dawson, owner of Anderson Speedway. “McGunegill Engines have proven to be
the best in performance in many divisions and high profile races. We are
very fortunate to attach their label to our Late Model division. A big
benefit of this relationship is the award to one of our competitors, an
engine to use in 2013. This is a huge commitment by Dewaine McGunegill to
help racers.”
McGunegill Engine Performance has been a leader in developing high
performance, cost effective race engine solutions. The family run business,
now owned and operated by DeWaine McGunegill, has led the development of the
highly successful Sealed Engine program for Late Models in the last nine
years. Their innovative Sealed Engine package has drastically cut the cost
of purchasing a competitive Late Model engine. McGunegill Engine Performance
has also been a top builder and rebuilder of crate engines competing in Pro
Late Model divisions including the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM
Performance Parts for several years.
Several CRA competitors used McGunegill Engine Performance power during the
2011 season including JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM Performance
Parts Champion Erik Jones, CRA Southern Tour Driver Champion Bubba Pollard,
along with 2011 CRA winners Eddie Hoffman, Brian Campbell, Terry Fisher Jr.,
Jeff Lane, Grant Enfinger, Jimmy Carter, Travis Braden, Jason Atkinson and
Brett Robinson.
