Hit County 102.5 WMDH Extends Partnership

(March 30, 2012) – Anderson Speedway officials announced that Hit County 102.5 WMDH will continue sponsoring the ThunderCar division for the upcoming season. This marks the third consecutive season WMDH has been the title sponsor of the ThunderCars.

“WMDH and their fans have been great supporters of Anderson Speedway for many years. The ThunderCars have provided some of our most exciting races,” said Rick Dawson, owner of Anderson Speedway. “We have a lot of fun with Todd Merikel and his staff at WMDH and that will continue in 2012 with some exciting things planned.”

Alexandria driver Hannah Lundy made track history by beating Lonny Burton to capture the WMDH ThunderCar championship in 2011. Lundy became the first woman driver to win a track title. During the season Lundy set fast time eight times during Herald Bulletin qualifying, recorded three feature wins and finished in the top five a total of 13 times.
