WMDH ThunderCar Enduro and IOFS Outlaw Figure 8's Highlight Season Opener

(March 28, 2012) – The 2012 racing season will officially kick off at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, March 31 with a blockbuster program on tap headlined by the WMDH ThunderCar Enduro and IOFS Outlaw Figure 8’s. Other divisions in action include Legends and Thunder Roadsters.

For the 21st occasion at Anderson Speedway, a WMDH ThunderCar Enduro will take place on the quarter-mile oval. Nine drivers have visited the winner’s circle following an Enduro event in the 10-year history of the grueling 200-lap race. In 2011, victories were captured by Benny Blevins in April and Nick Warner in October.

The IOFS Outlaw Figure 8’s will make their season debut in a 50-lap feature event. A solid field of drivers is expected including defending IOFS champion Gary Bedell. Other drivers that plan to participate include Charlie Hargraves, Dane Laster, Kenny Boggs, Jeff Hizer, Johnny Hagraves, Robbie Loving, Ben Tunny, Austin Tunny, Jeremy Vanderhoof, Bruce McFall, Jeff Swinford, Shawn Cullen, Josh Tharp, and Preston Maxwell among many others.

The Legends will do battle in a 25-lap main event. 2011 race winners at Anderson included Taylor Webb, John Robbins, Bryan Nuckles and David Moyes lll. The Thunder Roadsters return for a 25 lap feature.

On Saturday night, spectator gates open at 3 p.m. with the racing beginning at 6. Admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
