Josh Poore Aiming for Street Stock Championship
(March
16, 2011) –
Joining a talented list of track champions that will
be competing in the Street Stock division, Josh Poore has announced his intentions to
compete for the 2011 Street Stock Championship at Anderson Speedway. He will
also be racing full-time in the EDCO CRA Street Stocks.
“I want to win as many races as possible and contend for both
championships,” said Josh Poore.
The 2010 season ended on a superb note for Poore as he captured the final
three Street Stock events at the quarter-mile oval. One of those victories
included a CRA Street Stock victory during the EDCO Welding & Hydraulics
Night at the Races.
“The 2010 season was incredible. I felt that I had a chance to win anywhere
we went and the car was really dialed in at the end of the year.”
In
addition to winning the final three Street Stock main events, Poore won the
300-lap CRA Street Stock event last June after leading the final 117
circuits and finishing 0.404 seconds ahead of Rich Boyer.
“CRA has some of the toughest competition around and to win anywhere against
those guys is special. Winning on my home track in front of my fans made it
even more special. I really enjoyed defending the home turf.”
Poore began his racing career at Anderson in 2004 winning the ThunderCar
drivers title. He then advanced to the SuperTruck division the following
season earning the Rookie of the Year honors and placing sixth in the in the
final standings. In 2006, he scored his first division victory and then a
steady progression in season point finishes with third in 2007 and narrowly
missing the championship trophy in the final season of the SuperTruck
division in 2008.
Sponsors that help Josh Poore include Graphx Now, Deb and Donna’s Diner, N&J
Collision, Goober Stanley Motorsports and Motion Motors. The team will
welcome any new marketing partners that want to be part of the team for the
2011 season.
Josh sends specials thanks to his mom and dad, Rickey Tharp, Goober, Scott
Neal, Country and everyone that helps out with the race team.
The racing season begins for Poore in the Street Stock division on Saturday,
April 9.
