Warner Garners 5th Front Wheel Drive Title; Captures Figure 8 Feature Win
(October 11, 2010) – Nick Warner capped off the 2010 racing season during Ed Martin Toyota Championship night at Anderson Speedway with another feature win in Figure-8 action for the Front Wheel Drive division.

Ronnie Phipps took the early lead in the feature followed closely by Warner, Elliott McKinney, Donnie Ellis Jr. and Ryan Claborn. On the tenth lap Warner got inside of Phipps entering turn one and never faltered on his way to victory.

Ellis was the driver on the move passing McKinney and Phipps to record a second place finish. McKinney and Claborn rounded out the top five.

Warner is considering running in the Street Stock division in 2011 after claiming his fifth championship in the FWD Figure-8 division.

There was plenty of action in the heat race, which was won by Phipps after passing McKinney on the back straight just past the halfway point of the event.

The early lead was taken by Harry Lashure with McKinney, Nick Warner, Phipps and Dennis Farver Jr. in close pursuit. Ellis moved into the fifth spot on lap two and shortly thereafter Farver bounced off the turn three wall bringing out the lone caution flag in the race.

McKinney passed Lashure after the restart on the back straight and two laps later Phipps used an inside move at the same spot on the track to grab the lead. Phipps was followed to the checkers by McKinney, Ellis, Warner and Claborn.
