EDCO Welding & Hydraulics Night at the Races Slated for Saturday

action returns to Anderson Speedway on Saturday, September 18 with the EDCO
Welding & Hydraulics Service Night at the Races. The racing lineup includes CRA Street
Stocks, Figure 8’s, Vore's Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts and UMRA Midgets.
In the CRA Street Stocks, former Anderson Speedway Track Champion Rich Boyer
ranks first in the standings with a 16 point cushion over Jeff Lane in the Danny
Acrey owned machine. The remainder of the top five includes Rick Irwin, Brian
Hopkins and Steve Christman.
The Anderson Speedway Street Stocks will also be part of the 75-lap event. Boyer
also tops the Street Stock point standings over Rob Allman with Derrick Layne
ranking in third position. Fourth is Randy Hoppes with Todd Marsh filling out
the top five.
Rod Phipps paces the Figure 8 point standings with a 124 point lead over Curtis
Chapman. Veteran campaigner Bruce McFall ranks third with Danny Stanley Jr. and
Jason Pitts completing the top five.
The Vore's Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts will make their second appearance at
Anderson Speedway and will also be joined by many of the regulars that compete
in Anderson’s Front Wheel Drive Oval division. Tim Dilg sits atop the CRA
standings with Justin Brown, Jess Drook, Cary Abrell and Steve Vore the top
five.
Chris Teepe leads the Front Wheel Drive Oval standings at Anderson with Gary
Bragg Sr. in second and Brad Bell positioned in third spot. Jerry Dane and Paul
Phipps round out the top five.
The UMRA Midgets will compete on the quarter-mile oval for the second occasion
in a little over a month. On August 7, Terry Goff recorded the victory over
Jason Goff and Johnny Goff. The top five finishers also included Doug Roland and
Robbie Roland.
Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. on Saturday with the racing program beginning at
8. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and
under get in free.
