ThunderCar Enduro and Ed Maynard Memorial Slated for Saturday Night
Anderson
Speedway returns to action on Saturday, October 17 with the ThunderCar Enduro
along with the biggest event of the Front Wheel Drive Oval season when the Ed
Maynard Memorial takes center stage on the world’s fastest quarter-mile oval.
The ThunderCar Enduro will feature some of the top drivers in the area battling
for 200 laps for a $3,000 first place prize. This marks the fourth ThunderCar
Enduro of the season with Johnny Magee earning the checkered flag in the opening
two events with Nick Warner claiming the most recent win during the August race.
In last year’s October ThunderCar Enduro, Magee bested a field of 53 cars and
beat Warner and Ronnie Phipps to the finish line.
A payday of $750 is up for grabs in the Ed Maynard Memorial with the Front Wheel
Drives. The 100-lap feature can feature up to 60 cars in the starting field. In
last year’s edition, Nick Warner earned the victory over Ronnie Phipps and
Rickie Tharp.
Pure Stocks will also be part of the racing program on Saturday. They will be
showcased in a 20-lap feature.
On Saturday Night, spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with the racing beginning at
7. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and
under get in free.
