H.O.S.S. Winged Sprint Cars Return on Saturday Night
The
world’s fastest cars return to Anderson Speedway on Saturday, August 15 when the
H.O.S.S. Winged Sprint Cars make their final 2009 appearance. The racing program
will also include ImmediaDent Figure 8’s along with Front Wheel Drives in Oval
and Figure 8 action.

victory in May on the same night that Dave Steele set the new world record
during qualifying. In June, Florida hot shoe Troy DeCaire grabbed the top prize
in the H.O.S.S. main event. Heading into this weekend’s race, Jimmy McCune sits
atop the point standings. Other challengers include Tim Cox, Chris
Neuenschwander, Greg Wheeler and Rod Wheeler.
The ImmediaDent Figure 8’s continues to feature a close points battle with Jeff
Swinford taking over the top spot after earning a runner-up finish last weekend.
Mike Riddle Jr. ranks second, just 13 points behind. Third in the standings is
Rickie Tharp, just 29 points behind Swinford. Fourth is Johnny Magee with Josh
Tharp completing the top five.
Jeff Saxon leads the way in the Front Wheel Drive Oval division with nearly a
200 point margin over Gary Bragg Jr. Third in the standings is Kevin Harmon with
Jack Leisure and Gary Bragg filling out the top five.
Three-time Front Wheel Drive Figure 8 champion Nick Warner tops the division
standings with defending division titlist Andy Keller listed in the second spot.
Third is Bill Leisure with Kevin Harmon and Jeff Hopkins completing the top
five.
On Saturday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at
8. Admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and
