60th Best Way Disposal National Crown takes Center Stage on Saturday

The
longest continuous stock car race will be contested at Anderson Speedway on
Saturday, July 18, when the 60th Best Way Disposal National Crown will showcase
the competitors for the ImmediaDent Figure 8’s. The racing program will also
include appearances from the Street Stocks and Front Wheel Drive Oval divisions.
The Best Way Disposal National Crown is the longest running continuous stock car
race in America. The winner’s list is a who’s who of Figure 8 racing. Last year,
Nick Warner became the latest driver to earn the prestigious victory. Active
drivers that have won National Crowns include Warner (2008), Rod Phipps (1999,
2007), Ronnie Rose (2004), Ronnie Phipps (1998, 2003), and Doug Riddle (1997).
The ImmediaDent Figure 8 division features a tight points battle with the top
four drivers separated by 31 points. Former division champion Mike Riddle Jr.
ranks in first position with Rickie Tharp only seven markers behind Riddle.
Third is Jeff Swinford with Johnny Magee listed in fourth spot. Josh Tharp
rounds out the top five.
Bret Miles continues to pace the Street Stock point standings with other strong
season performances turned in by Rob Allman, three-time division champion Rich
Boyer, Randy Hoppes and Kyle Flynn.
In the Front Wheel Drives Oval division, Jeff Saxon continues to hold the first
position with Gary Bragg Jr. ranked in second spot. Other challengers this year
include Kevin Harmon, Jack Leisure and Ray Zirkle.
On Saturday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at
8. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and
under get in free.
