Five Divisions in Action on Saturday
Racing
action returns to Anderson Speedway on Saturday, July 11th with five divisions
taking center stage at the world’s fastest quarter mile oval. The racing program
will include Street Stocks, WMDH ThunderCars, Mini Cups along with Front Wheel
Drives in Oval and Figure 8 action.
Heading into this weekend’s action, Muncie’s Bret Miles ranks first in the
Street Stock point standings with a 114 point lead over Rob Allman. Former
champion Rich Boyer is third in the standings with Randy Hoppes and Kyle Flynn
completing the top five.
After another strong performance last weekend, Rob Allman took over first
position in the WMDH ThunderCar point standings. He holds a 35 point lead over
season long challenger Rod Phipps. The remainder of the top five includes Nick
Warner, Terry Malone Jr. and Hannah Lundy.
In the Front Wheel Drives Oval division, Jeff Saxon continues to hold the first
position with most recent winner Gary Bragg Jr. in the second spot. Third in the
points rundown is Kevin Harmon with Jack Leisure and Larry Zirkle filling out
the top five.
Former division champion Nick Warner moved into first position in the Front
Wheel Drive Figure 8 point standings after posting a runner-up finish during
Figure 8 Madness last weekend. Defending champion Andy Keller is listed in
second position with Bill Leisure, Elliott McKinney and Jared Keller also
producing solid seasons in the division.
The Mini Cups will also be in the action for this first occasion this year at
Anderson Speedway as they will be showcased in a 25-lap feature.
On Saturday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at
8. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and
under get in free.
