H.O.S.S. Winged Sprint Cars Return on Saturday Night
Racing
action returns to Anderson Speedway on Saturday, June 20 with the H.O.S.S.
Winged Sprints Cars, ImmediaDent Figure 8’s along with UMRA Midgets and Front
Wheel Drive Oval.
The Winged Sprint Cars return for the first time since Dave Steele set a new
world record for the quickest lap on a quarter-mile oval. Steele’s impressive
lap in May timed in at 10.344 seconds. In the most recent Winged Sprint Car
event at Anderson Speedway, 71-year-old Hank Lower scored the victory on May
20th holding off Ryan Litt and Steele. The most recent victory in the H.O.S.S.
at Anderson went to Geoff Kaiser, the former holder of the track record.
In the ImmediaDent Figure 8’s, the Josh Poore owned No. 85 driven recently by
Mike Riddle Jr. ranks first in the point standings. Ricky Tharp is second just
22 markers behind. Third is Johnny Magee with Jeff Swinford and Josh Tharp
rounding out the top five.
Four victories and consistent finishes have propelled Jeff Saxon into a
comfortable points lead in the Front Wheel Drive Oval division. Second is Gary
Bragg Jr. with Kevin Harmon, Andy Keller and Ray Zirkle filling out the top
five.
In the UMRA Midgets, Terry Goff sits atop the point standings with Brent Turner
in second position. The remainder of the top five includes Oogie Goff, Tim Lynch
and Zach Cougill.
On Saturday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at
8. Admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and
