Anderson Speedway Releases Exciting 2009 Schedule

Action Entertainment has released the
tentative 2009 racing schedule for Anderson Speedway that celebrates the 62nd
season at the World’s Fastest Quarter-Mile Oval. The Speedway has put a big
emphasis on its Saturday night programs for 2009. Headlining Saturdays will be
Street Stocks, Figure 8’s, ThunderCars and Front Wheel Drives in the Oval and
Figure 8.
The 2009 season began Thursday with the 11th Annual New Year’s Day Bash. Over 70
cars competed on a blustery day to the enjoyment of a large crowd of fans.
The schedule is packed with many special events and touring series in an effort
to give the fans a wide variety of entertainment. Highlighting these will be the
61st Pay Less Little 500 on Saturday, May 23rd with the top asphalt Sprint Car
racers in the country. The 2nd Annual Midget 400 Classic will continue its run
on July 25th.
Several touring series will make visits to Anderson Speedway including USAC
National Sprint Cars & Midgets, CRA Super Series Late Models, H.O.S.S. Winged
Sprint Cars, Kenyon Midgets and Ford Focus Midgets. Negotiations are ongoing to
present an afternoon Legend program and Drifting races which is a new and fast
growing motorsport.
The increasingly popular CRA Sportsman Late models will make 3 appearances in
2009. A new event to the schedule will be a 300 Lap Street Stock race on June
27th. Several returning events will have different formats, primarily the Stock
Car Festival in October has been trimmed to a one day, features only event.
Three big Nights of Thrills and Figure 8 Madness on July 4th will continue to be
some of the most popular and exciting nights at the Speedway. Officials are also
busy working on a Labor Day Weekend Festival.
The 2009 schedule will should become official in early February. Specially
discounted ticket packages are available at the Speedway office daily from 10 –
4.
