Timmerman Scores First SuperTruck Victory

Five exciting divisions provided plenty of action Saturday night as Josh Timmerman captured his first career Ed Martin Supertruck feature victory at Anderson Speedway while Rich Boyer returned to the victory circle in the Street Stock main. John Robbins grabbed the Newco Metals Legend headliner with Ranny Hinton taking the Immediadent Figure 8 feature and Trevor Abbot the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Pro oval.

Josh Timmerman couldn't have picked a better night to notch his first career win as he was being honored on Families For Hope Night at the races…a cause Josh races for. Timmerman took advantage of a fully inverted field and jumped on the competition at the start. He led flag to flag while a dual in the pack between Ronnie Rose, Josh Poore and Joe Beaver ensued. They finished in that order with Rod Phipps rounding out the top five. Beaver was the heat winner with Poore setting the fast time at 13.642 seconds.

Kyle Flynn led the first four laps of the Street Stock main before being passed by Randy Hoppes. Randy held the point until the train came rumbling by on lap 15 with Rich Boyer making the race winning pass. Danny Acrey, II stayed glued to Boyer's bumper but had to settle for 2nd followed by point leader Jeff Perry, Rob Allman and Flynn in that order at the finish Side by side racing action filled the race on all points of the race track. Allman and Flynn were preliminary winners with Boyer the fast qualifier at 14.129 seconds.

Defending Champion and point leader, John Robbins, made it look easy in the Newco Metals Legend feature as he grabbed the lead on lap 2 and never looked back, winning by 3.619 seconds. Trailers were Billy Smith, Andrea Hans, Mike George and Jeff Woods to round out the top five. Mark Dietzen was the heat winner with Smith fast timer at 14.302 seconds.

Trevor Abbott came charging through the pack like a mad cow to grab the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Oval Pro feature to take his second win of the year. Chasers were point leader Randy Hoppes, Gary Bragg, Jr., Jeff Saxon and Todd Yarberry rounding out the top five. Yarberry and Donnie Ellis, Jr. were preliminary winners with Gary Bragg, Sr. setting quick time at 16.045 seconds.

Immediadent figure 8 racing saw point leader Ranny Hinton lead from flag to flag for his third win of the season defeating Josh Tharp, Joe Hart, Jr., Rob Allman and Mike Riddle, Jr. Hinton also won the heat with Hart fast timer at 15.333 seconds.

Racing resumes this Saturday night as the USAC National Midgets hit the track for a special 100 Lap feature. Teams from all over the country have entered the event. Also on tap will be the Kenyon Midgets, Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Pro and Figure 8 Divisions. Gates will open at 5:00 with racing at 8:00
