Series on Friday; SuperTrucks, Street Stocks, Figure 8's and Legends on Saturday

Speedway returns to racing action this weekend. On June 27, the WLBC / MAX
Friday Night Summer Series will showcase USAC Kenyon Midgets, ThunderCars along
with Quick Auto Front Wheel Drives in Oval and Figure 8 action.
In the opening nine events of the Kenyon Midgets schedule, Caleb Armstrong sits
atop the point standings with a 14 point lead over Drew Charlson. Third is Jeff
Wimmenauer with Mike Terry Jr. and Grant Galloway completing the top five. The
most recent winner is Caleb Armstrong, who collected the winning hardware on
Wednesday, June 25 at Mt. Lawn Speedway.
After scoring a third consecutive victory in the opening four events, Travis
Burge moved into first position in the ThunderCar point standings. Consistent
performances have kept Lonny Burton in title contention, trailing Burge by just
three markers. Sam Folsom is third with veterans Tom Tacket and Dennis Farver
Sr. complete the top five.
John Ford holds the first position in the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Oval
division with a seven point lead over Harry LaShure. Last week’s winner Andy
Keller is third. In the Figure 8 division, Andy Keller holds a 40 point margin
over Donnie Ellis Jr. with LaShure in third position.
On Friday Night, spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with the racing program
beginning at 8. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children
five and under get in free.
On Saturday, regular divisions return with appearances from Ed Martin Chevrolet
SuperTrucks, Street Stocks, ImmediaDent Figure 8’s and Newco Metals Legends.
Joe Beaver recorded the most recent victory in the Ed Martin Chevrolet
SuperTrucks and extended his points lead to 49 markers over Josh Poore. The
remainder of the top five includes Rob Allman, Jerry Faucett and Josh Timmerman.
Jeff Perry moved into the top spot after last weekend’s Street Stock action.
Perry leads Ronnie Rose by 39 markers with Jake McElfresh, Rob Allman and Katie
Jackson filling out the top five.
A close battle remains in the ImmediaDent Figure 8’s with Rob Allman nine points
ahead of Ranny Hinton. Third is Ronnie Rose, who recorded two feature wins last
weekend. Fourth is Mike Riddle Jr. with Joe Hart ranked in fifth place.
In the Newco Metals Legends, John Robbins continues to hold the first position
with a 47 point lead on Mark Dietzen. Veteran Billy Smith ranks third with Clark
Dietzen and David Moyes lll completing the top five.
On Saturday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing program
beginning at 8. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children
five and under get in free.
