Honors 2007 Champions
Anderson Speedway held the 2007
Awards Banquet at The Military Museum in the Officer’s Club located in Anderson
on Saturday Night, November 10. The Saturday Night Racing Series divisions and
MAX/WLBC Summer Series divisions were honored during the awards ceremony.
Brandon Phillips was crowned Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTruck driver champion and
owner Michael Sczesny grabbed the owner championship hardware. Phillips drove
the No. 96 SuperTruck to one feature victory, eight fast times, 11 top-five
finishes and 11 top 10s.
Special Award winners in Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks were presented to Mark
Soots for Rookie of the Year, Josh Timmerman for the Rocky Tharp Memorial
Sportsmanship and the late Bob Lemen for Bob Remington Memorial Dedication.
Jake Owens and owner Amber Owens earned their first Lampco Federal Credit Union
Street Stock title. The Anderson competitor collected seven feature wins and 11
top-five finishes en route to the championship.
Special Award winners in the Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks were
presented to Katie Beaver for Rookie of the Year, Jake McElfresh for the Rocky
Tharp Memorial Sportsmanship and Bruce McFall for the Bob Remington Memorial
Dedication.
Rod Phipps and owner Dave Hacker Rose captured the ImmediaDent Figure 8’s
championship. Phipps recorded three feature wins and 16 top-10 performances.
Special Award winners in ImmediaDent Figure 8’s were Dustin Burge for Rookie of
the Year, Rod Phipps for the Rocky Tharp Memorial Sportsmanship and Herb Rose
for Bob Remington Memorial Dedication.
Frankton’s John Robbins was crowned Newco Metals Legends champion. Robbins
scored five feature wins and 20 top-10 finishes.
Special Award winners in the Newco Metals Legends were presented to Jeff Woods
for Rookie of the Year and Sportsmanship. Bob Smith was the winner of the Bob
Remington Memorial Dedication Award.
Anderson’s Nick Warner and owner Chris Portwood grabbed the championship
hardware in the ThunderCar division. Warner drove to three feature wins, 13
top-five finishes and 17 top 10s en route to the championship.
Special Award winners in ThunderCars were presented to Sam Folsom for Rookie of
the Year, Kamden Creek for Sportsmanship and John Goforth for the Bob Remington
Memorial Dedication.
Bryan Wright and Jeff Wright were crowned Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive
Oval champions. Bryan Wright recorded a single feature victory along with 15
top-five finishes and 20 top 10s.
Special Awards in Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Oval were Hannah Lundy
for Sportsmanship and Jeff Wright for the Bob Remington Memorial Dedication.
Anderson’s Nick Warner and owner Jim Warner earned their third consecutive
Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Figure 8 championship. Warner drove to 16
feature wins and 22 top-five finishes.
Special Awards in Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Figure 8’s were Dennis
Farver Sr. for Sportsmanship and Donnie Ellis Jr. for the Bob Remington Memorial
Dedication.
