Touring series invade Anderson Speedway

ANDERSON, IN – Four touring series will bring four unique style of race cars to Anderson Speedway on Thompson Insurance and Cintas Night at the Races.

The Champion Racing Association Sportsman Late Models and Street Stocks will both be in action in 75-lap features, both events are the second of the Chase races leading up to the championship at Winchester Speedway in October.

Two-time defending McGunegill Engine Performance Late Model champion Jeff Marcum is currently undefeated in late model action on the high banked quarter-mile oval.

A strong field of sportsman late models are expected to compete including Tony Brutti, Terry Fisher Jr., Billy Hutson, Chris Shannon and Eddie VanMeter the most recent winner in the series.

The Street Stocks will feature Danny Adams who recorded his first feature win with CRA at the last Anderson Speedway event. Local drivers expected to compete include current point leader Jacob McElfresh, Jason Atkinson, James Kirby III and Andrew Teepe.

The K&M Tool & Die Mel Kenyon Midgets return for the sixth of seven appearances in 2018 for the Parallax Power Supply 30.

Defending series champion Damron Taylor has won the last two events at Anderson Speedway holding off Trey Osborne and the brother team of Ryan and Logan Huggler and Kameron Gladish.

The Vore’s Compact Touring Series will make their last appearance where local driver Trent Gossar scored the most recent win.

Qualifying is set for 6:30 p.m. with racing action at 8 p.m. Adult tickets are $12 with $4 admission for children between the age of 6 and 12 years of age.
