For the first time in his racing career Chris Green scored a Winged Outlaw Figure-8 Series victory at Anderson Speedway.

Green led all 50 laps chased by series point leader Michael Hadley Jr. for most of the night.

Jacob Garrigus grabbed the second spot from Hadley on lap 41, but as he want up to challenge for the win lost control coming off the second corner on lap 42. Garrigus spun back across the track and collected Fred Bear, who had been running fourth.

Bear, who set fast time during qualifications and started from the back of the field, and Garrigus also made contact on lap 27 and spun coming off the second corner while battling for third.

Following Green and Hadley to the checkers was Ben Tunney, and Garrigus, who’s crew made quick repairs during the caution period, with Mike Riddle Jr. rounding out the top five.

“I love this place,” Green said in the Tim Thompson Nationwide Insurance Winner’s Circle. “I finally got a win here. Mike (Hadley) had a fast race car, but I was able to hold my line.”

Green finished second at Anderson Speedway on July 26 in a race won by Ben Tunney. Hadley, the series point leader, finished second for the third time in 2014 and added a third place showing.
