Brian Gerster First to Enter 68th Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW-GM

The first official entry has been received for the 68th Annual Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW-GM on Saturday, May 28 at Anderson Speedway. Brian Gerster, third-place finisher in 2012, is the first official entry in the Davis-Gerster Racing No. 27.

Gerster, of Fishers, Ind., has made seven appearances in the Pay Less Little 500 producing one top-five finish and three top 10s.

The highlight of his Little 500 career has been the third-place finish in 2012 after starting in the 29th position. Earning his initial podium finish, Gerster finished behind race winner Brian Tyler and second-place finisher Billy Wease.

Gerster has 37 open wheel victories on his resume including dirt and pavement in divisions of Midgets, Non-Wing Sprints and Winged Sprints, two of which took place at Anderson Speedway.  One with USAC National Midget Series and the other during the 2014 Paint the Night Pink. Gerster earned his first National victory with a USAC National Midget Series at Indianapolis Raceway Park in 1994. He placed third in the 1995-1996 USAC National Midget Standings.

From 2001-2004, Gerster served as Color Analyst and Pit Reporter on the ESPN Thunder Series that featured USAC National Midgets and Sprint Car series.

The last few years Gerster has enjoyed successes in Winged Sprint Car Pavement Races prominently with the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series. He has 21 career fast times and 14 career feature wins with Must See Racing, making him the all-time leader in both categories. Gerster earned back-to-back championships in 2013-2014 and scored two consecutive victories in the Joe James/Pat O’Connor Memorial at Salem Speedway. In 2015, he was crowned King of the Wing Midwest Champion.

Gerster recently earned the 2015 Hoosier Auto Racing Fans Sportman of the Year Award.

In the 2016 Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW-GM, Gerster will compete in the No. 27 entry with sponsorship back from Winchester Furniture Showroom, Jet-Star, Image Express, Armstrong Garage Doors, RAM Engineering, Landrum Performance Springs and Simpson Race Products.
