ASA Reunion Returns to Anderson Speedway for Second Year

ASA Reunion Returns to Anderson Speedway for Second Year

The return of the American Speed Association (ASA) has been greeted with great excitement. With the former national touring stock car series returning to auto racing as the sanctioning body for the ASA Stars National Series, fans will see the ASA label for the first time since 2004. Not only will the 57th Annual Greg Hubler Automotive Group Redbud 400 at Anderson Speedway be featured on the inaugural 10 race schedule for the ASA Stars National Series, but the July 15th event will also include the second annual ASA Racers Reunion.

The 50th Anniversary ASA Racers Reunion will not only celebrate the new beginnings of ASA, but also the 50th anniversary of the storied organization. Beginning in 1973, the national touring series saw future NASCAR stars and champions compete at pavement short tracks all across the United States. Founded in 1968 by Rex Robbins, the series was a regional hotspot for sprint cars, late models, and other divisions.

ASA began its ascent to popularity in 1973 when they specialized as a national series for stock car racing. From the very beginning, the Redbud 400 was a staple on the ASA schedule. Starting in 2000, however, the historic race was sanctioned by Champion Racing Association (CRA). They continued to sanction the race through 2022, and now ASA takes the reins once again.

The 50th Anniversary ASA Racers Reunion will be held on the day of the race and will see the stars of ASA return to Anderson to celebrate the legacy of the American Speed Association. Anderson Speedway hosted the inaugural ASA Reunion in 2022 during the 56th Annual Redbud 400 where star drivers and crew members alike gathered for a celebratory luncheon, autograph session, and pre race festivities. More information on the 50th Anniversary ASA Racers Reunion will be made available leading into the event.

The 57th Annual Greg Hubler Automotive Group Redbud 400 will be Saturday, July 15th at 7:30pm. An open practice will be held on Friday, July 14th for drivers to make adjustments before a one day show that includes a final practice, qualifying, and the 400-lap race. Ticket information for the event will be released at a later date.
